In 1885, Fred Perris purchased land for the Southern Pacific Railroad for a town site. In exchange for the railroad station, the people offered to build a train depot, create a well and other benefits for the town. It was then incorporated in 1911 and now has a population of approximately 44,000 residents.
The City of Perris is well known for its recreational activities including Lake Perris which offers camping, boating, fishing, hiking, and picnicking. It is also home to the Orange Railway Museum, the largest rail museum in the West, The Perris Historical Museum and the March Air Museum.
The City has a perfect formula for business development, affordable housing, growth and leisure activities making it a great place live, work and play.
